08:36 < mipe> morning all
08:48 < _Ragnar__> hmmm
08:48 < _Ragnar__> thanks mipe
08:48 < _Ragnar__> okay with your system, I get to stage 1
08:48 < _Ragnar__> when it starts stage 2, I get the same segfaults as before
08:49 < _Ragnar__> what options do you use for your build?
08:50 < mipe> uhm, segfault in 2-gcc?
08:51 < _Ragnar__> no, 2-boehm-gc ... the first 2-* package
08:51 < mipe> _Ragnar__:and do not use the grub from that. its broken, but fixed in svn.
08:51 < _Ragnar__> yeah that's okay
08:52 < _Ragnar__> did you select any optimization?
08:53 < mipe> _Ragnar__:athlon64, but mom on phone..
08:53 < _Ragnar__> hmmm same as me
08:53 < _Ragnar__> weird
09:00 < mipe> _Ragnar__: i did get random build failurus due to parallel jobs, but i disabled and got rid of them. even that the package should be working with parallel jobs
09:00 < mipe> _Ragnar__:amd64 is quite picky with memory it has, have you checked that?
09:04 < _Ragnar__> how so? memtest?
09:04 < _Ragnar__> yes
09:06 < _Ragnar__> and memory errors should occur more or less randomly, not at the same location every time
09:06 < _Ragnar__> I already have parallel builds disabled
09:07 < _Ragnar__> was did your segfault in gcc look like?
09:10 < mipe> _Ragnar__: dont remember mostly i got parallel errors at gcc,in style:delete file and then access the file
09:10 < _Ragnar__> hm
09:12 < _Ragnar__> I've no idea how to debug this :/
09:14 < mipe> _Ragnar__:hmm, i think i got segfaults when i had 512mb(no errors at memtest) some sh segfaults at gcc, looked over at mb makers homepage to see if they have tested the mem and didnt see it, so i decided to change that to one they have(was free of charge so...) and also upgraded to 1024mb
09:15 < _Ragnar__> were the sh segfaults reliable, or sporadic?
09:16 < mipe> _Ragnar__: whats sporadic? random...
09:16 < _Ragnar__> yes
09:16 < mipe> yep they where random
09:16 < _Ragnar__> like, one time you could run it, one time you could not
09:16 < _Ragnar__> with me, it's reproducable
09:16 < _Ragnar__> it always fails at this placw
09:16 < _Ragnar__> place*
09:17 < _Ragnar__> and it seems to not fail in stage 0 or 1 now
09:18 < mipe> _Ragnar__: and it doesnt produce core file?
09:18 < _Ragnar__> no :/
09:18 < _Ragnar__> hmm actually
09:18 < _Ragnar__> I didn't look for the last builds
09:19 < _Ragnar__> I'll have to check that when it fails again, I'm currently trying a build with no optimizations
09:19 < _Ragnar__> and I'm in init=/bin/bash mode, so no job control
09:21 < _Ragnar__> did you use the kernel in the system.tar.bz2 or a self-built one?
09:24 < mipe> kernel in system.tar.bz2
09:25 < _Ragnar__> okay so if it fails again at the same location with the un-optimized build I'll try that kernel next
09:25 < _Ragnar__> otherwise I'll have to bugger rxr_ for help :/
09:25 < mipe> you could rebuild kernel(new one released after that build)
09:25 < _Ragnar__> that's what I'm running now, 2.6.11-dist
09:25 < mipe> oh
09:28 < _Ragnar__> btw do you need a special memtest for 64bit? I've used one from a rather old cd
09:30 < _Ragnar__> well I'll let this run until I wake up tomorrow
09:31 < _Ragnar__> thanks for now and have a nice day :)
09:36 < mipe> i used the memtest from beta2(i think). gn8 _Ragnar__

14:32 < jeru> hi folks
14:34 < mipe> hi jeru
14:40 < jeru> hi mipe ... what is the current status of your AMD64 build ?
14:43 < mipe> hmm,atm i'm fixing bootdisk target(broken gcc) while building desktop(stage 3),mnemosyne is working(gnome untested), and generic(minimal-desktop)
14:44 < mipe> generic(minimal-desktop) is working
14:45 < jeru> ahh ... ok ... just think about it if we can use an Opteron Server at work ;)
14:45 < jeru> thought
14:46 < jeru> so it's nice to here that mnemosyne builds quite fine
14:47 -!- mnemoc [~amery@200.75.27.48] has joined #t2
14:47 < mnemoc> damn isp
14:47 < mnemoc> rxr_: ?
14:47 < mipe> hmm,we should add an $arch NOPARALLEL flags, since dietlibc didnt work without it :(
14:48 < jeru> hi mnemoc :)
14:48 < mipe> hi mnemoc
14:48 < mnemoc> "I am embarrassed to announce the release of GNU Libtool 1.5.14. ... This release is a bugfix release to fix regressions introduced in 1.5.12."
14:48 < mnemoc> jeru! :)
14:48 < mnemoc> mipe: what do you mean?
14:49 < mnemoc> mipe: nothing can be parallel if you use dietlibc on certain arch?
14:49 < mipe> well i dont know what i mean :( *lol*
14:49 < mnemoc> :)
14:49 < mnemoc> jeru: did you read about heimdal/postgresql?
14:50 < mipe> in dietlibc.conf theres an mkdir bin-$arch and right after that it starts building, well it starts building before directory is made and fails to build, since no output directory...
14:50 < jeru> mnemoc: what was my fault with pgsql yesterday ?
14:50 < jeru> yeah ... but unfortunately didn't understand ... sorry ;)
14:50 < mnemoc> look into heimdal package
14:51 < jeru> ok ... I'll do that
14:51 < mnemoc> there is a parse-config which is applied to every package
14:51 < mnemoc> and a pkg_postgresql_post.conf which is specific to postgresql
14:52 < mnemoc> my postgresql here is linked against heimdal, i some part of the auto-extension is failed it should be fixed on one of those three files on heimdal package
14:53 < mnemoc> as a policy about extensions, extendee (postgresql in this case) can't know about every extension because the extensions are responsability of the maintainer of the 'extender' not of the maintainer of the 'extendee'
14:54 < mnemoc> err
14:54 < mnemoc> becase [the can be infinite, and] the extensions*
14:54 < jeru> mnemoc: sorry that I forgot to examine it properly ...
14:55 < mnemoc> :)
14:55 < mnemoc> don't worry
14:56 < mnemoc> can you try to find what part of the magic stuff on heimdal is not working for your postgresql?
14:57 < jeru> yep ... will move shortly home ... and will try to examine the problem ...
14:57 < mnemoc> great
14:57 < mnemoc> have anyone seen rene?
14:58 < jeru> CEBIT?
14:58 < mnemoc> yes, but he promissed to commit susan's gnome-2.10 stuff yesterday
14:59 < mnemoc> to be able to release -rc1 on cebit
14:59 < jeru> mnemoc: do you know if there is a way to use udhcp with an LDAP backend ?
15:00 < jeru> have you ever seen something like that ?
15:00 < mnemoc> i want that too :(
15:01 < jeru> just found an patch for ISC DHCP -> http://www.newwave.net/~masneyb/
15:01 < mnemoc> yes, but for ISC's
15:01 < jeru> hmmm .... :/
15:02 < mnemoc> you want to set on ldap or to read on ldap?
15:02 < mnemoc> i think it's not too hard to improve udhcpd notify to export some envvars
15:03 < mnemoc> and using notify script update ldap
15:03 < jeru> just want to have hosts in LDAP and automagically generate udhcd.conf ... for the first
15:04 < jeru> but if udhcpd could ask LDAP directly ... that would be even better
15:05 < mnemoc> i doubt that considering how udhcp's leases work
15:06 < jeru> but I have to play around with udhcpd first how it works ... as you know I never used it
15:06 < mipe> hmm i just dont understand why my gcc is broken on boot target and not on others...
15:07 < mnemoc> dietlibc?
15:08 < mipe> yep but what is it doing for gcc header files, i dont get the basic header files at all, stddef.h et al
15:13 < mipe> erh, i mean doesnt install them
15:14 < mipe> ah fixincludes...
15:14 < mnemoc> jsaw or rxr_ can answer that, not me :(
15:17 < jsaw> .oO(not really)
15:19 < mnemoc> jsaw: hi :)
15:20 < jsaw> hi mnemoc
15:20 < jsaw> another idea: http://nc1701d.homeip.net/~jsaw/t2-logo.png

15:21 < jsaw> :)
15:22 < mnemoc> if you get a more circular 2 i'll vote for it :D
15:22 < jsaw> more circular?
15:22 < mnemoc> to get it more simetric to the t
15:23 < jsaw> (btw, the lines between t and 2 should be parallel, imagemagick screwed it)
15:23 < mnemoc> ic
15:23 < mnemoc> skencil?
15:24 < jsaw> AI
15:24 < mnemoc> AI?
15:24 < jsaw> abode illu
15:25 < mnemoc> :)
15:28 < jsaw> reload
15:29 < jsaw> bbl (after meeting)
15:30 < mnemoc> cu jsaw
15:30 < mnemoc> jsaw: much better, but the tail of the '2' is too long
15:31 < mnemoc> jsaw: what about using the size of the short part of the t?
15:44 < jeru> jsaw: looks nice :)
15:45 < mnemoc> http://www.hogardecristo.com/navegacion/index.html <--- it's similar to this :)
15:53 -!- jeru [~jeru@mail.oberlinhaus.de] has quit ["using sirc version 2.211+KSIRC/1.3.11"]
16:04 < mipe> what should provide __NR__llseek? sys/types.h?
16:04 < mipe> erh linux/fs.h?
16:06 < mnemoc> # grep -R __NR__llseek /usr/include/
16:06 < mnemoc> /usr/include/asm/unistd.h:#define __NR__llseek 140
16:06 < mnemoc> /usr/include/bits/syscall.h:#define SYS__llseek __NR__llseek
16:08 < mipe> hmm
16:08 < mnemoc> inject it :)
16:09 < mipe> i knew that, but dosfstools fails because it cant find __NR_llseek
16:09 < mipe> and it sounds like a patch to linux-headers rather than dosfstools
16:10 < mnemoc> yep
16:10 < mnemoc> usual sanitization
16:10 < mipe> but the question is what file to patch...
16:12 < mnemoc> http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/gcalctool/ <-- 4.4 to 5.5??
16:12 < mnemoc> linux/msdos_fs.h?
16:13 < mipe> hmm,theres a patch to already remove that include from dosfstool,wonder why
16:14 < mipe> quite a version leap on gcalctool
16:14 < mnemoc> gcalctool v5.5.40 [stable]
16:14 < mnemoc> Posted by Philipp on: 2005-03-01 08:28:07 [ Print ]
16:14 < mnemoc> Gcalctool is the default GNOME desktop calculator.
16:15 < mipe> hmm latest appears to 5.5.41
16:16 < mnemoc> yep
16:16 < mnemoc> i'm updating to 5.5.41
16:26 < keinek> hello everybody
16:26 < mnemoc> hi keinek
16:45 < valentin> hi from the cebit
16:46 < valentin> finaly got network

16:46 < mnemoc> hi valentin
16:47 < mnemoc> how was the jorney?
16:48 < mnemoc> valentin: for rxr: "I am embarrassed to announce the release of GNU Libtool 1.5.14. ... This release is a bugfix release to fix regressions introduced in 1.5.12."

16:51 < rxr_valentin> yeAH hi
16:51 < rxr_valentin> oh ,/)
16:51 < rxr_valentin> I check it out soon
16:51 < rxr_valentin> we first have to finish susans gnome work and I have some cleanups and postinstall stuff pending
16:52 < rxr_valentin> so please do not touch the cron.daily stuff in trunk - a commit will follow most probably tomorrow until lunch ...
16:53 < mnemoc> did she updated 2.10/* or all gnome2/* ?
16:53 -!- rxr_valentin is now known as susanne_valentin
16:53 < mnemoc> hi susanne :)
16:54 < susanne_valentin> hi mnemoc
16:54 < susanne_valentin> i updated gnome to 2.9 but i did not commit yet
16:55 < mnemoc> i'm testing updates for 2.10 here
16:55 < mnemoc> there are priority changes? or new packages to add?
16:55 < susanne_valentin> is 2.10 already stable ?
16:55 < mnemoc> released
16:55 < mnemoc> 2.10.0
16:56 < susanne_valentin> we had no good network connection here today - thanks to openoffice
16:56 -!- susanne_valentin is now known as valentin
16:56 < mnemoc> oh
16:56 < valentin> they took the ip for the whole boothline for a single machine
16:56 < jsaw> re
16:56 < mnemoc> if i commit my work on openoffice, can you fix it with them?
16:57 < valentin> hehe
16:57 < mnemoc> *laught/angry reaction*
16:57 < valentin> mnemoc: i took that serious for a moment
16:58 < valentin> they do not even know how to configure their network
16:58 < mnemoc> no no, my reaction was about their ip takeover
16:58 < mnemoc> java people :p
16:59 < valentin> the tech chief gave them the ip and a netgear router and told them to configure the router for that address
16:59 < valentin> and they failed
17:00 < valentin> so they just took the address for their machine
17:00 < mnemoc> oh
17:00 < valentin> and we were plugged into the router wondering why nothing was routed ...
17:02 < mnemoc> how much time took the tech chief to discover the disaster?
17:04 < mnemoc> valentin: (susanne) should i commit my work with 2.10 and you merge, or you commit 2.9 and i merge?
17:09 < jsaw> http://nc1701d.homeip.net/~jsaw/t2-logo-2.png

17:36 < mnemoc> almost
17:36 < mnemoc> libbonobo still frozen :)
17:36 < valentin> does it build
17:36 < valentin> ?
17:36 < mnemoc> i started a ref build this morning

17:36 < mnemoc> with updated automake and libtool too
17:38 < _Ragnar_> which is right, since that is a link to /usr/lib/crti.o, which is 32-bit
17:38 < mipe> _Ragnar_:http://koti.japo.fi/~pmika/2005-03-10/gcc.patch
17:38 < valentin> mnemoc: how did you update? manuallz or extended the cecker to serach for subdirs ?
17:39 < mipe> _Ragnar_:a patch to fix those,it isnt in svn since need a proper way to handle multilib stuff,ie i'm creating /usr/i386-t2-linux-gnu/lib and place 32bit libs there since ld expect to find them there
17:39 < mnemoc> valentin: manual
17:39 < _Ragnar_> uh huh
