00:29 < Shingo--> what exactly does this option "Smart optimisation using a profile database"?
00:34 < mnemoc> clifford did a database profiling different optimization for different packages
00:34 < mnemoc> that optimization claims to use the best options for each package
00:38 < Shingo--> and that already included in BS?
00:38 < Shingo--> I have to just check this option?
00:38 < mnemoc> i wouldn't use it
00:41 < Shingo--> why?
00:44 < Shingo--> somebody have to update freshmeat informations from project.
00:44 < Shingo--> r2 isn't the last stable version?
00:45 < mnemoc> rc2 hasn't been announced yet
00:45 < mnemoc> rc1 is the last official stable version
00:45 < mnemoc> we need to get the iso-s ready and downloadable before announcing
00:47 < mnemoc> .oO( we do i always write freshmeant.net?? )o
00:55 < Shingo--> :-)
00:55 < Shingo--> do you know the name of script to fetch program and create package skel?
00:57 < mnemoc> misc/archive/newpackage
01:04 < Shingo--> I don't have this script.
01:05 < Shingo--> $(dialog --version 2>&1| grep -c "0.9")
01:05 < Shingo--> how to make this line detect 0.9 >?
01:06 < mnemoc> uhm
01:06 < mnemoc> it's better to extract the version on test it on a case
01:24 < Shingo--> sh misc/archive/newpackage.sh package/gnomefiles/gcb http://www.csie.nctu.edu.tw/~cp76/gcb/gcb-0.2.8.tar.bz2
01:24 < Shingo--> it's ok?
01:25 < mnemoc> gnomefiles??
01:25 < mnemoc> anyway, it's only repo/pkg
01:25 < mnemoc> not packages/repo/pkg

01:31 < Shingo--> whatever I want?
01:31 < Shingo--> what is criteria to that name?
01:31 < mnemoc> Shingo--: use which already exist inside package/
01:32 < Shingo--> ok, but how to choose?
01:33 < mnemoc> according to what the package does
01:33 < mnemoc> or where other similar packages live

15:59 < sepp_> they are updated manually...

18:31 < Shingo--> svn: Failed to add file 'package/base/m4/m4.conf': object of the same name already exists.
18:32 < Shingo--> I have to remove this file?
18:33 < mnemoc> yes, the local one is obstructing the add from server
18:49 < Shingo--> I was listen Lois Armstrong, and think to my self what wonderful T2 world. :-)
18:49 < Shingo--> Updated to revision 10762. :-)
18:50 < mnemoc> :)
18:54 < Shingo--> can I rename the build/system*r2, almost ready, to new name?
19:00 < mnemoc> yes
19:00 < mnemoc> btw, r2 means release 2 and rc2 release _candidate_ 2
19:05 < Shingo--> i know, thanks. :-)
19:05 < Shingo--> Then, what's the propose the name "build/$config-t2-arch-optimization-target/"?
19:05 < Shingo--> why to include t2 version on build name?
19:05 < Shingo--> Am I clear?
19:07 < Shingo--> "build/$config-$t2version-$arch-$optimization-$target/" :)
19:07 < mnemoc> not sure
19:07 < mnemoc> not sure why we add the version
19:08 < mnemoc> yes, that is SDECFG_VERSION
19:08 < mnemoc> it's defined at the end of config/$config/config
19:10 < Shingo--> but, if I change that value the Config don't will change again?
19:10 < mnemoc> yes
19:11 < mnemoc> Config generates that
19:11 < mnemoc> you have to adapt your build dir to what Config wants

19:17 < Shingo--> ok.
19:17 < Shingo--> But really necessary Config create build dir that way?
19:17 < Shingo--> if no difference, change version name on build dir, Config is making "foolish" SDECFG_ID.
19:17 < Shingo--> Don't you think?
19:17 < Shingo--> Sorry, if I told a "foolish".
19:25 < mnemoc> Config is making that SDECFG_ID because that was defined more than 6 years ago
19:26 < mnemoc> you can discuss the removal of version with rene when he returns
19:28 < mnemoc> Shingo--: another thing you can do if you don't wnat rename your build dir is to change sdever on scripts/parse-config
19:28 < mnemoc> Shingo--: so your 2.1 stay at rc2
19:31 < Shingo--> I run /Config before. :-) I guess it's revolve, Config always rewrite with new file from your configuration up to memory?
19:31 < mnemoc> yep
19:32 < Shingo--> " T2 2.1.0-rc3 Config File" :)
19:33 < Shingo--> "what wonderful T2 world". :)

19:54 < Shingo--> mnemoc: can you read my old regression report please? libsvg-cairo don't add [E] automatic, and my adding don't affect anything.
19:56 < mnemoc> [E] doesn't have any effect
19:58 < mnemoc> it's just referencial for maintainers
19:58 < mnemoc> the used dependencies are which are on .cache file
19:58 < mnemoc> what's the location of your regressions report?
20:05 < Shingo--> http://www.mercadodepublicidade.com.br/~shingo/t2-system/
20:05 < Shingo--> the new report will be generate.
20:06 < Shingo--> already new. :-)
20:07 < mnemoc> don't add [E] tags
20:09 < mnemoc> libzvbi was not downloaded
20:10 < mnemoc> Shingo--: gcb?
20:11 < mnemoc> Shingo--: you have to review it's Makefile to see what does it use for PREFIX
20:11 < Shingo--> ok.
20:11 < mnemoc> Shingo--: and using var_append makeopt and makeinstopt give PREFIX=/$prefix
20:11 < mnemoc> Shingo--: so it doesn't install the files on /usr/local
20:13 < Shingo--> avifile is the worse part as far I can see. I don't understand nothing, qt was build with -thread
20:13 < mnemoc> Shingo--: vazaar needs gtkmozembed, add it with that name on gnome2
20:15 < Shingo--> how to add theses dependencies? .cache?
20:15 < Shingo--> shall I create that file by the hand?
20:15 < mnemoc> .cache files are generated
20:16 < mnemoc> after you build it you will get var/adm/cache/$pkg
20:16 < mnemoc> copy it to package/*/$pkg/$pkg.cache
20:18 < Shingo--> [BUILDTIME] 693 (5) ERROR
20:18 < Shingo--> this remains?
20:20 < mnemoc> Shingo--: rebuild it
20:21 < Shingo--> when rebuild is ready, then a will make a new copy? that right?
20:21 < mnemoc> yep
20:26 < Shingo--> I need to run Config before build if I change config/$config/pkgsel by hand?
20:27 < Shingo--> before Build-Target.
20:27 < mnemoc> yes
20:27 < mnemoc> but -oldconfig
20:27 < mnemoc> to bypass the UI
20:27 < Shingo--> thanks. :-)
20:27 < mnemoc> bbl

20:43 < Shingo--> I have to make a patch how to proceed?
20:44 < sepp> patch what?
20:46 < Shingo--> the file from original author, he use own configure script.
20:47 < Shingo--> your Makefile has a var BASEDIR, there's a way to override this var?
20:48 < sepp> make a some_meaning_name.patch and put it into the package dir

23:09 < sepp> mnemoc: i just looked at the bt from the core dump and i thought i saw this already
23:09 < mnemoc> ic
23:11 < sepp> k3d (a 3d app like blender) has the same problem
23:11 < sepp> i wanted to debug this but with debug symbols ...
23:12 < mnemoc> :)
23:13 < sepp> some parts of the deprecated gtk stuff are broken
23:14 < sepp> who knows
23:14 < mnemoc> gtk12?
23:15 < sepp> no deprecated/old parts in gtk+ 2
23:15 < mnemoc> ic
23:16 < Shingo--> what is the right way?
23:16 < Shingo--> change configure.in and regenerate configure? change both? change only configure.in and run autogen.sh?
23:16 < Shingo--> it's for patch.
23:16 < mnemoc> depends on how big the patch gets
23:17 < mnemoc> usually you need more changes on configure than on configure.in
23:18 < mnemoc> but if the change is small anyway, patch configure
23:18 < Shingo--> that it, on gentoo I make wrong, I have tested, if I change configure.in and run autogen.sh, the configure goes to the end.
23:19 < mnemoc> instead of calling autogen.sh set autogen=1 on .conf
23:24 < Shingo--> :)
23:58 < Shingo--> what is the usually AM_GLIB_GNU_GETTEXT value? maybe glib-gettextize?
