08:17 < Tauras> hello
08:30 < morfoh> hello Tauras
08:31 < Tauras> can one tell me the reason to use root and xroot and pkg and xpkg in Build-Pkg script?
08:31 < Tauras> what is the difference between them?
08:37 < morfoh> Tauras: Documentation/PKG-BUILD-VARS <-- this is the Document describing the build variables
08:39 < Tauras> nad what is pkgfork'd package then?

08:41 < CIA-7> chris * r17420 /trunk/package/security/cryptsetup-luks/ (. cryptsetup-luks.cache cryptsetup-luks.desc): * added cryptsetup-luks (1.0.3) - A LUKS aware cryptsetup replacement for dm-crypt.
08:42 < Tauras> btw, I heared that logic in t2.2 is changing, can one confirm and give main points please?
09:51 < CIA-7> rene * r17421 /trunk/misc/tools-source/cmd_wrapper.c:
09:51 < CIA-7> * improved cmd_wrapper to use dynamic allocation for the filter
09:51 < CIA-7> argument lists, currently it truncates to 1023x1023 which fails
09:51 < CIA-7> for many packages such as glibc when a GCC_WRAPPER_FILTER is
09:52 < CIA-7> used
09:52 < rxr> Tauras: they are not used in t2 anymore
09:52 < rxr> Tauras: they can be used to build a package under another name
09:52 < rxr> like gcc=gcc-2.95.3-arm-...
09:52 < rxr> (or the other way round, whatever)
09:52 < rxr> ROCK after 2.0 uses it for package forking and/or splitting
09:53 < rxr> we consider this too complex, faulty and evil and do not do such trickery in favour of stability and logicability
09:53 < rxr> but we keep this inside the Build-Pkg to avoid noise in the history and "just in case"
09:54 < Tauras> :) thank you
09:54 < rxr> Tauras: your welcome ,-)
10:03 < CIA-7> rene * r17422 /trunk/misc/tools-source/cmd_wrapper.c:
10:03 < CIA-7> * fixed two comment typos in the latest cmd_wrapper patch, modified
10:03 < CIA-7> the inf. loop for readability and reformated a previously existing
10:03 < CIA-7> code fragment for readability, likewise

11:47 < CIA-7> a goto that was in already the original code!

15:15 < rxr> re
15:16 < rxr> kristian: oehm
15:16 < rxr> moderatly
15:19 < kristian> rxr we have a problem concerning access to new modules on the board - you remember the ppc project?
15:21 < kristian> rxr the hardwareguys decided to take new (other manufactor different size - different protocols/maybe also sectorsizes) modules and now we have to change the bootloader and the kernel driver within like 1 week or so.
15:21 < rxr> sounds like fun
15:21 < rxr> well, I overbusy these days right now :-(
15:22 < kristian> rxr the boss wants to know if you think this would be doable
15:22 < kristian> rxr okay
15:23 < kristian> rxr so I can take that part - but they wont see it working within the next month I think - there are to many unforseeable problems
15:27 < rxr> definetly
15:27 < rxr> sue the hardware guys -)
15:27 < kristian> rxr its just strange how such decisions are made in this company
15:27 < Tauras> I have a file in flistdel, and it is marked as orphaned, but it was still installed onto the system :( is there a cleanup?
15:29 < Tauras> kristian: usually these decisions made by non tech people
15:31 < kristian> Tauras well fortunately there are a lot of engineering people working here but noone to organize the chaos, so this kind of decision can go through without even asking the softwareguys - the HW people just pick up - "oh we need mor space" and then thik they are doing us a favor, the problem - just before production and right after our deadline
15:31 < rxr> "this is 2 cent cheaper, get it"
15:32 < rxr> Tauras: since we have not yet fixed all the borkem package's to install all files all the time
15:32 < rxr> (some use e.g. make rules for installation that do not install the file if it has not changed) the orphaned list is still merged back into the flist
15:33 < rxr> Tauras: when you modify a package, mine -rf the pkg and reEmerge it or so
15:33 < kristian> so the project as it is distributed in like 3 companyes gets manufactored at a different place and get into testing to the SW workspace just 1 day before last delivery date
15:33 < kristian> anyway - its my problem now. ;)
15:34 < Tauras> thanks rxr
15:40 < rxr> kristian: mein mittleid ,-)

21:30 < veki> ah yes, working a lot, travel on Saturday to USA< Chicago to attend teh conference, and speak about our projects and you guys
21:30 < veki> check your mail, morfoh
21:31 < mnemoc> oh
21:32 < veki> ah yes, in my country people say that someone think on you when you do hiccups
21:32 < mnemoc> :D
21:32 < veki> so if you were doing hiccups, that i sbecause I thought about you ;)
21:32 < mnemoc> *g*
21:32 < veki> I put you in all my docuemnst and presentation at the conference
21:33 < mnemoc> pegasus and t2 are your weapons?
21:33 < veki> in a way yes as concepts, pegasos as open hardware platform and T2 as software tool
21:34 < veki> but not oly as concepts, as real solutions too :-)
21:34 < tdi>
21:35 < mnemoc> and what others do you have? :)
21:35 < veki> I sould be glad if there will be more things as pegasos
21:35 < tdi> beretta
21:35 < veki> I have been told to focus on 2 conceptually good
21:35 < veki> but there are many, arm processors , xilinx fpgas...
21:35 < veki> beretta is good also :-)
21:36 < mnemoc> tdi: :)
21:36 < veki> but at the conference organized by microsoft
21:38 < mnemoc> *g*
21:38 < veki> another good weapon is our plum brandy

21:39 < mnemoc> hehe
21:39 < karasz> incoming daily:
21:39 < karasz> "All warfare is based on deception."
21:39 < veki> good ;)
21:39 < veki> I see
21:40 < veki> our plum brandy is very very string, it turns your memory from big endian into little endian in one second
21:40 < veki> it is strong
21:41 < karasz> incoming rant title:"GIMP"
21:41 < karasz> GIMP-> Graphical and Imposible to Manipulate Program
21:41 < veki> he he
21:47 < veki> karasz: did you try to import fax tiff files into GIMP?
21:48 < _Ragnar_> *lol*
21:50 < karasz> veki ... worst.
21:50 < karasz> i tried to do some photo editing.....
21:50 < veki> you will not succeed in openoffice also, it does not recognize tags for pages
21:50 < veki> only Image Magic and Kfax do that properly
21:51 < veki> on windows even Winfax is not doing that always properly
21:52 < veki> so GIMP=Gimp Is My Pain
21:53 < veki> I asked openffice guys a coupel of months ago to take care on filters for tiff fax files, but no results yet
21:53 < karasz> veki right now i am exiled on *doze.
21:54 < veki> I do not use it in teh last 7 years, it makes me nervous and physician prescribed abstinence from windows
