18:45 < rxr> AMD: any luck with T2 on your x86-64 ?
18:47 < AMD> rxr: not really luck. I used this new Gentoo based LiveCD called Sabayon and tried to build again. Kernel was compiled successful but ncurses didnt work.
18:50 < AMD> the build system shows an error output refering to few lines of the program code
19:00 < rxr> hm
19:00 < rxr> do you have the log handy ?
19:03 < Stelz> hm.. rxr
19:04 < Stelz> in which package i could find lp program?
19:04 < Stelz> cups?
19:05 < AMD> rxr: not really handy
19:05 < AMD> rxr: do you need the whole log?
19:06 < rxr> or the error segment
19:06 < rxr> Stelz: yes - cups and lprng
19:06 < rxr> (and others)
19:06 < Stelz> rxr: others?
19:06 < rxr> depedning which print spooler you wanna use

19:38 < AMD> rxr: still there?
19:40 < rxr> yes hi
19:40 < rxr> didn't you say kernel worked?
19:40 < AMD> yes
19:40 < AMD> it worked
19:40 < AMD> on a newer system
19:41 < rxr> oh - but that compile error is again a kernel build error
19:41 < AMD> sabayon livecd based on current gentoo distro
19:41 < AMD> strange
19:41 < rxr> ok - and still kernel build error on t2

20:06 < AMD> can anybody help me with this error log: http://pastebin.ca/185153
20:06 < AMD> tried to compile ncurses
20:06 < AMD> but didnt work
20:19 < pcryo> AMD: which platform !?
20:20 < AMD> core 2 duo
20:20 < pcryo> which Linux Flavour !????
20:20 < pcryo> i had problems with compiling on CentOs 4.4
20:20 < AMD> sabayon livecd
20:21 < AMD> is based on latest gentoo stuff
20:21 < pcryo> i removed ncurses 5.4-13 and installed ncurses 5.4-4
20:21 < AMD> however I had success with compiling the kernel and many other programs
20:21 < AMD> but ncurses doesnt work
20:21 < AMD> I dont know why
20:22 < pcryo> what is the version of the ncurses u have !?
20:28 < AMD> the package is ncurses-5.4.tar.bz2
20:32 < pcryo> try to move the headers to /usr/include/
20:32 < AMD> which headers
20:34 < pcryo> headers inside the bz2 file after unzipping and untarring it copy files to /usr/include/curses/
20:36 < AMD> my other computer isnt switched on at the moment
20:36 < AMD> ill check this tomorrow
20:36 < AMD> where did you get the ncurses 5.4-4 package from?
20:37 < pcryo> i had it on rpm2find
20:39 < AMD> and youre lucky with your self compiled T2?
20:40 < AMD> compiling takes always so much time. I think it isnt worth to compile the whole system.
20:43 < pcryo> no am stuck with glibc
20:43 < pcryo> am going to post my problem once i get the error log file !
20:43 < pcryo> i am at my office but my compilation takes place at home !
20:44 < pcryo> so waiting for connection to be established remotely !
21:04 < pcryo> i already posted the glibc error i got !
21:04 < pcryo> hopefully if anyone can assist ! much thanks !
