00:00 < sepp> :)
00:00 < sepp> do you have to add something to get Japanese language support?
00:02 < kfries> My system runs SCIM as a front end to Anthy to do the translation, then there is the dictionary. The oriental languages use concepts where here in the west and in Europe we use words. So the translation is not simple
00:03 < kfries> すし 鮨 寿司 and sushi all read the same to a Japanese person... fun heh?
00:04 < kfries> btw, that is すし then 鮨 then 寿司 they all kind of ran together in the IRC
00:04 < sepp> not realy sure, maybe some limited number of chars is not such an bad idea, even if i can not remember howto write things half of the time
00:05 < kfries> Their written language is conceptual, not always word based.
00:06 < kfries> Kanji has the same symbol in Chinese as in Japanese as in Korean
00:06 < kfries> They may use different words, but the same Kanji, so it has advantages
00:06 < kfries> Untiil you try to type the blessed thing, lol
00:10 < kfries> Well, thanks for the help, you have pointed me in a promissing direction, so I guess I have some research and reading to do
00:10 < kfries> Thx

22:01 < emte> _Ragnar_, you found any issues yet with my change?
22:01 < _Ragnar_> no but I haven't really looked closely >.< no time
22:01 < emte> about to drop it on the ML as mtr suggested
22:01 < emte> okay
22:01 < emte> i've not had any problems yet in the ~10 times i've rebuilt
22:02 < emte> so i am thinking its pretty safe
22:02 < _Ragnar_> *g*
22:03 < emte> in my mind it cleans up a few things and makes maintaining that section easier
22:03 < _Ragnar_> I'm currently trying to integrate the areca sata raid card drivers into the kernel
22:04 < emte> good luck
22:04 < emte> i am having a couple issues with tslib myself
22:04 < emte> mainly a few macros are missing when m4 regens the source files
22:57 < emte> i must say ... you guys have a strange ML setup
22:59 < emte> it looks as if its set to relay the poster's email address as the "reply to"
23:00 < emte> now i get bounces from strage servers ...
23:00 < emte> strange*
