02:32 < R4gnar0k> rxr: oh and I have a padding problem between xorg-server and the synaptics driver? the synaptics one seems to pad an int in a struct LocalDeviceRec to 8 bytes when followed by a pointer. xorg doesn't expect that padding and croaks on the shifted fields.

17:00 < LMJ> moin moin
17:08 < rxr> moin moin LMJ
17:09 < LMJ> did you had Virtualisation stuff built in your CPU when you did the KVM tests ?
17:25 < rxr> of course, KVM only works with a VT capable CPU ...
17:25 < rxr> protected mode stuff was way faster as I wrote
17:26 < rxr> if that would not be available I would not noticed the speed increase
17:26 < rxr> the dog-slow real-mode emulation is known
17:26 < rxr> it's listed somewhere along their page
17:26 < rxr> forgot to mention, for high speed (and server use anyway) xen is way faster
17:27 < LMJ> i tested Xen, it was pretty fast indedd
17:32 < R4gnar0k> rxr: so ... any idea about the padding?
17:34 < rxr> nope
17:34 < rxr> add some nopad attribute
17:34 < rxr> noone else has this problem ?
17:34 < rxr> synaptics works on my core2duo macbook in 64bit mode ...
17:35 < R4gnar0k> >.<
17:35 < R4gnar0k> what optimizations are you using?
17:47 < rxr> O2 usually
17:47 < rxr> do you use Os ?

18:15 < rxr> R4gnar0k: if you use Os gcc-4.1.1 was buggy
18:15 < rxr> I added a patch for that to trunk recently, 4.1.2 fixed this as well
