03:20 < shadeheim> I built t2 within Debian because I was having problems with the livecd, and I didn't see any errors - took a long time to compile like I thought it would. So how come I'm getting453 builds total, 0 completed fine, 0 with errors. on the ErrList

08:46 < bigmatt> does this livecd support sata cdrom and hd's?
08:46 < bigmatt> cause booting it up didnt seem to work
08:49 < bigmatt> I'm asumming it wasn't able to mount the cdrom
08:49 < bigmatt> but i have no0 idea how to get the erro rmessage
08:49 < bigmatt> since it was a livecd
08:58 < sepp> you could open a rescue shell and look if the modules are loaded
08:59 < bigmatt> ya when it doesnt work it puts me into a shell that just says #
08:59 < bigmatt> I can use some commands
09:00 < bigmatt> would you happen to know the command that lets you check the modules?
09:00 < sepp> i have no sata cdrom/hd so i have no clue about that
09:00 < bigmatt> oh
09:00 < sepp> lsmod
09:00 < bigmatt> thx

09:12 < sepp> hmm, can not run qemu to check an iso right now :/
09:13 < bigmatt> I'm running it right now lol :)
09:13 < bigmatt> i'll give the error now
09:13 < bigmatt> Searching for media with live.squash image ...
09:13 < bigmatt> No live media found, giving up. Debug shell :
09:13 < bigmatt> /bin/sh: No controlling tty (open /dev/tty: No such device or address)
09:13 < bigmatt> /bin/sh: warning: won't have full job control
09:15 < bigmatt> I hope this helps
09:15 < sepp> which t2 version?
09:15 < bigmatt> the newest one
09:15 < sepp> svn trunk?
09:16 < bigmatt> the pre built iso
09:16 < bigmatt> from the website
09:16 < bigmatt> I wanted to install that first before i built my own
09:16 < sepp> t2-7.0-rc-desktop-i686.iso ?
09:16 < bigmatt> http://osiris.tfh-berlin.de/mirror/t2/stable/7.0-rc/desktop-x86-i686/t2-7.0-rc-desktop-i686.iso
09:16 < bigmatt> :)
09:16 < sepp> ahh, ok
09:19 < sepp> i guess rxr could answer questions about that iso, but i think he is away for a week
09:19 < bigmatt> :( lol
09:19 < bigmatt> oh well
09:19 < bigmatt> you think i should try building from svn trunk? or will it be possible i'll get the same error
09:20 < sepp> well, trunk is unstable it should work but you get no guarantee ...
09:21 < bigmatt> I see
09:21 < sepp> but i installed one from trunk last week
09:21 < bigmatt> worked fine?
09:22 < sepp> yes, but not the live-cd, the old installer thingy
09:22 < bigmatt> oh
09:23 < bigmatt> hmm i have an idea i'll download the 6.0.3 iso
09:25 < sepp> if you have some other linux system you can try to build there
09:26 < bigmatt> i'm on debian right now i guess i'll use that
09:26 < sepp> but you need some *-dev packages ;)
09:27 < bigmatt> ya taht's the problem i dont know what i need lol i installed gawk, gcc, libcurses
09:27 < sepp> config will run some tests, if it fails early with some error just ask
09:28 < bigmatt> k thx :)
09:28 < bigmatt> under build system configuration, for continue on package error after state 0 is that a good option?
09:28 < bigmatt> what's recommended?
09:29 < sepp> ./scripts/Check-System does that
09:29 < sepp> i use 5
09:30 < sepp> this way it stops if there is an early error
09:30 < bigmatt> sounds good
09:31 < sepp> it bootstraps a sane toolchain (gcc and that) in the beginning, i guess you want to stop it on early errors (if there are some)
09:35 < bigmatt> so why do you use t2? :)
09:38 < sepp> i like to have my own customized linux without 5 gazillion strange deps and 300 installed email clients ...
09:38 < bigmatt> lol so true :)
09:40 < bigmatt> i might bbl nice meeting you and thx for the help good night :)

10:36 < tri> are rocklinux desc files compatible to t2 desc files ?
10:38 < sepp> i think so
10:43 < tri> do you think this package is compatible: http://www.rocklinux.net/svn/rock-linux/trunk/package/stf/ati/
10:44 < sepp> no, t2 has no linux*-src package
10:45 < sepp> that is a special case since that package was dropped

10:58 < sepp> :-)
