10:08 < CIA-9> rene * r24762 /trunk/package/ (12 files in 10 dirs):
10:08 < CIA-9> * fixed libart to cross build
10:08 < CIA-9> * marked, plptools, libgnomecanvasmm, libgtkhtml, libgnomecanvas,

10:16 < CIA-9> rene * r24763 /trunk/package/audio/bio2jack/ (bio2jack.conf bio2jack.desc): * fixed and marked bio2jack to cross build
10:16 < rxr> mtr: 1000 packages known to CROSS build, now
10:36 < mtr> yep, noticed the commit messages scrolling by
10:36 < mtr> including xfce4
10:38 < mtr> how did you solve the libtool is.la file issue?
10:39 < mtr> wasn't there a problem detecting the right library files?
10:39 < mtr> my workaround was to just rm -f *.la
10:43 < rxr> yes
10:43 < rxr> the libtool package does a parse-config rm -rf of the .la files :_)
10:43 < rxr> works pretty well
10:44 < rxr> when we hack orbit2 to cross build (wants to run helper tools like an idl compilier) we could probably cross build half of gnome instantly
11:33 < CIA-9> rene * r24764 /trunk/package/perl/imager/imager.desc: * updated imager (0.58 -> 0.59)
11:40 < CIA-9> rene * r24765 /trunk/package/base/pciutils/ (link.patch pciutils.desc): * updated pciutils (2.2.5 -> 2.2.6)

15:28 < Cyda> I am trying to create a t2 system that will be less than 20MB in size, what would be the best way to tackle this with t2?
15:49 < mtr> hi Cyda
15:50 < mtr> checkout the T2 SDE from 7.0-rc svn branch
15:51 < mtr> during svn co you may take a look at the handbook http://www.t2-project.org/handbook/html/
15:51 < mtr> create a configuration for your build using ./scripts/Config
15:51 < Cyda> thanks mtr, i read through the docs, but my issue is in the config files there are alot of packages i dont want built into my system
15:51 < mtr> select "Generic System" as target
15:52 < Cyda> i was wondering what kind of issues i would run into remove some of those dependencies
15:52 < mtr> with minimal package selection
15:52 < Cyda> plus am running into trouble building busybox on x86_64
15:53 < Cyda> so you dont think it would be a good idea to muck around with the package config files?
15:54 < Cyda> i created a minimal system and that ran around 200+MB just for the iso
15:54 < mtr> ooh, that was minimal + X11, wasn't it?
15:55 < Cyda> nah, minimal with no x
16:01 < mtr> that sounds a bit large, my Minimal+X+Desktop reference build is about 140MB
16:04 < mtr> the Generic Minimal package selection should be a good starting point, you could then disable some packages you do not need,
16:05 < Cyda> yeah I'll start there. ty

16:09 < mtr> hi tri
16:09 < tri> does somebody here know rpath ?
16:12 < mtr> linker option?
16:14 < tri> ;-) rpath linux
16:14 < mtr> linker option rpath sets a shared library search path

18:54 < keztoo> ping rxr
18:58 < keztoo> ping sepp
19:00 < Stelz> i want u ping me t00
19:00 < Stelz> :D
19:00 < rxr> keztoo: hi
19:01 < keztoo> is the pax currently supported?
19:01 < keztoo> and do u know which versions opf the mips are currently supported
19:02 < rxr> yes, various ARM and MIPS shoudl just work
19:02 < keztoo> hin Stelz: ping :-)
19:02 < rxr> we even have people from the MIPS people of NEC on our T2 list
19:02 < Stelz> hey ho
19:02 < keztoo> no specifics?
19:02 < keztoo> all pax and all mips
19:03 < rxr> keztoo: well - we used various already, and there are so really many different cores
19:03 < rxr> depends which core is in the chip, though specifically optimized binaries are suppost to always run
19:03 < rxr> it is mostly only a matter if there are the Linux kernel drivers already available, or if you / we have to write them
19:04 < keztoo> so any pax/mips cpu
19:04 < keztoo> just an issue of whether any strange additional hardware
19:05 < keztoo> which arch to use for pax?
19:07 < rxr> can you point me to a web link of the core you target ?
19:08 < keztoo> i wish i could , my boss wants me to find out which pax and mips versions are supported by t2
19:09 < keztoo> the easier question for me would be does t2 support this particular processor so i guess i'll look into the different cores
19:09 < rxr> you want / need MIPS or any ARM, SuperH, ... ?
19:09 < keztoo> and see if anything odd about any of them sticks out then i''l be able to ask you a more concise question
19:09 < rxr> T2 can generate the usual binaries that run on those
19:10 < rxr> the only thing is to grab the linux kernel driver patches for your chip and place them along in your target directory
19:10 < rxr> for nearly any core you select you will probably need more or less kernel patches for the drivers ..
19:10 < keztoo> so basically, if a vendor supplies kernel patches for the drivers then we're good to go
19:11 < rxr> vendor supplied or community hacked, yes
19:11 < keztoo> so the list is probably quite large
19:12 < rxr> ok - /me heading home - cu then
19:12 < keztoo> ok, by rxr and thank u
