14:41 < sepp> hi valentin :)
14:43 < rxr> sepp: experience with extern root servers ?
14:43 < rxr> sepp: any to propose :-) ?
14:43 < sepp> dont know
14:43 < sepp> == 08/16/07 14:28:02 =[9]=> Finished building package sbcl. :)
14:44 < rxr> sbcl what ?
14:44 < sepp> some common lisp compiler
14:44 < sepp> ...
14:44 < rxr> :-)
14:45 < sepp> of course written in lisp to make it unfriendly to build
14:45 < rxr> hahaha
14:45 < rxr> reminds me on missing ADA support in T2 ...
14:45 < rxr> dum di du di dumm
14:45 < sepp> or haskell :p
14:46 < sepp> but that is too ugly anyway
14:46 < rxr> heh
14:46 < rxr> next I need better perl and python cross build support anyway
14:46 < sepp> ghc makes gcc look like a fast and mem friendly compiler
14:46 < rxr> and the Mesa cross build is needed
14:47 < rxr> sepp: *lol*
14:47 < sepp> serious
14:55 < sepp> what was the abort and print some error function?
14:56 < rxr> abort "the error is ..."
14:56 < sepp> hehe
14:57 < rxr> yay:
14:57 < rxr> 1185 / 2938
14:57 < rxr> .40333
14:57 < rxr> 40 % or our packages are know to CROSS compile ... !!!
14:58 < sepp> :)
15:07 < sepp> i have nothing to cross compile to ...
15:08 < rxr> T2 will continue to support native building *:-)*
15:08 < sepp> ;)
15:14 < rxr> but the really great thing is, that we now can start providing binary package update feeds from one big bumber cruncher for all supported architectures
15:15 < rxr> without the need to have a "tolerably fast" AVR32, ARM, SuperH, SPARC, you name it box ad hand .-)
15:15 < rxr> (besite the added value for embedded projects that just need to cross build anyway)

15:35 < mqueiros> rxr: binary packages... so, it's possible to use binary packages with T2 ? Let's say... if I compile GCC one time I won't need to compile it again ?
15:45 < rxr> yes, our pre-built CDs come with binary packages already
15:45 < rxr> mine / gem supports it
15:45 < rxr> just that we do not "yet" have binary pools
15:47 < mqueiros> ok...
15:48 * rxr shortly off

18:18 < mqueiros> I'v found the following problem: If I add partimage package in ./scripts/Config the build-target script will stop with the following error: http://pastebin.com/m5967b12a Even if I remove partimage from ./scripts/Config the build will always stop with the same error. The only way to solve is to run the Clean script and restart the build (without adding partimage)... but that takes a long time ... :(
18:19 < mqueiros> any help will be welcome ! :)

18:38 < tri> moin
18:40 < rxr> hihi
18:41 < rxr> mqueiros: ah - probably partimage adds some special partimage user
18:41 < rxr> the livecd code that injects user / passwd stuff in the final progessing does so with a patch that does not apply anymore in that case
18:41 < rxr> mqueiros: which version of T2 was this ?
18:42 < rxr> ah - 6.0
18:42 < rxr> in the meantime I changed the patching, maybe I should port that back to 6.0
18:42 < rxr> so that it is less likely that the modification fails
18:43 < tri> is there a new livecd planed ?
18:44 < rxr> tri: yes sure :-)
18:44 < mqueiros> rxr: yes, it does... the patimaged user, and group...
18:44 < tri> https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/loco-contacts/2007-August/001510.html
18:44 < rxr> tri: we'll continue to spin 7.0 releases pretty soon
18:44 < mqueiros> rxr: it's 6.0 but I think I run with the same problem in 7.0...
18:45 < tri> ah cool - are there all tools on board to "build" from this livecd ?
18:46 < mqueiros> rxr: In 7.0 (trunk) the error was the same, but I'm not sure it was because of partimage...
18:47 < rxr> tri: yes, the future livecd built by default should probably be useable to rebuild T2
18:47 < rxr> mqueiros: hm
18:50 < mqueiros> rxr: just to make it clear... I had that error in trunk many days ago... that's why I started working with 6.0.
18:50 < rxr> ok - in that case we probably should not patch the file but edit it by other means
18:52 < mqueiros> rxr: can you give me any solution to avoid having to start a new config and rebuild again ?
18:53 < rxr> mqueiros: if you want a quick hack for now
18:53 < rxr> you could just remove the partimage lines from build/.../etc/passwd and shadow once, manually
18:53 < rxr> so the user modifications apply
18:53 < mqueiros> rxr: ok, thanks... I will try it.
18:55 < tri> any news about the neo target ?
18:58 < mqueiros> rxr: ok, manually removing the lines worked... :) Thanks! (Well I should have imagined it...)
18:58 < rxr> yeah - it's just the default T2/Live user patching that failed
18:59 < rxr> I changed the trunk patch to have less context so it more likely applies despite changes in between
19:11 < CIA-24> rene * r25631 /trunk/ (47 files in 47 dirs): * marked about 47 more packages to just cross build these days

19:33 < mqueiros> rxr: Sorry, another question... Once you have told me that if I wanted to add a new package to T2 (without having T2 installed) I could just add it to my target... That means that I should create files in /packages/... ? I will be reading the handbook now... :)
19:33 < rxr> yes package///.desc
19:34 < rxr> and also select it in your target
19:34 < rxr> once it is known to build add the .cache from the build:
19:34 < rxr> cp build/.../var/adm/cache/ package///.cache
19:34 < rxr> ad optimally send it back to us :-)
19:35 < mqueiros> rxr: yes... ok... thanks! ;)
19:35 < rxr> you're welcome :-)

20:04 < rxr> which site ?
20:05 < DeeKey> t2 project site
20:06 < rxr> heh - and all fine about it ?
20:06 < DeeKey> is it really so?
20:06 < DeeKey> not sysvinit, bootup in less than 2 minutes, starting the UI early on
20:07 < DeeKey> 2 minutes to boot the phone!
20:07 < DeeKey> too much!
20:09 < rxr> DeeKey: the software they have right now is not able to make UI phonecalls
20:10 < rxr> it boots in 2 minutes
20:10 < rxr> uses glibc, and sysvinit
20:10 < rxr> don't ask me that is the state
20:10 < rxr> they explicltly sell it with "there is no software, you have to write it", though
20:10 < rxr> http://rene.rebe.name has more
20:13 < rxr> oh - and powered off it still drains the battery in one day ...
20:13 < rxr> (because, aparrently not all chips are powered off)
20:14 < rxr> whatever, thanks god that is not my project ...
20:14 < rxr> so - all fine people? I seek for dinner in some seconds
