If you can, you should try using T2 to build your own distro. 01:14 < Peter_g> mqueiros_: Alright, so I should download the .iso and build it from there? Which iso? 01:27 < mqueiros_> Peter_g: let me check... 01:29 < mqueiros_> if you want to install T2 get one ISO from... 7.0-rc2 01:30 < mqueiros_> if you just want to build using you current distro just follow this: http://www.t2-project.org/documentation/buildintro.html 01:41 < Peter_g> I don't want to compile T2....I want to use T2 to compile my own system 01:43 < mqueiros_> yes... buildintro will allow you to do that... 01:43 < Peter_g> mqueiros_: Great, thanks a lot 01:44 < mqueiros_> you will be able to choose the packages you will have in you system. You won't be compiling T2... 01:44 < Peter_g> If it's only 200mb, where does it get all the packages from? 01:44 < Peter_g> Also, will I be able to include the latest packages? 01:45 < mqueiros_> the iso won't get you all the packages... only the necessary to have a working linux distro. 01:45 < Peter_g> Where can I get the packages? Over the internet directly from T2? 01:46 < mqueiros_> You can check all the packages T2 has got, and versions, here: http://www.t2-project.org/packages/ 01:46 < mqueiros_> yes you can have the packages over the internet. 01:49 -!- axionix [n=axion@cpe-74-70-239-117.nycap.res.rr.com] has quit ["leaving"] 01:49 -!- axionix [n=axion@cpe-74-70-239-117.nycap.res.rr.com] has joined #t2 01:49 < Peter_g> mqueiros_: Very helpful, thank you 01:50 -!- axionix [n=axion@cpe-74-70-239-117.nycap.res.rr.com] has quit [Client Quit] 01:50 -!- axionix [n=axion@cpe-74-70-239-117.nycap.res.rr.com] has joined #t2 02:27 -!- Peter_g [n=peter@83.147.130.37] has quit [Remote closed the connection] 03:13 [Users #t2] 03:13 [@ChanServ] [ CIA-4 ] [ elias` ] [ mqueiros_] [ rxr ] 03:13 [ __new__ ] [ dogmeat] [ Enqlave] [ mtr ] [ TobiX ] 03:13 [ axionix ] [ dsoul ] [ LMJ ] [ Ragnarin ] [ |beowulf|] 03:13 -!- Irssi: #t2: Total of 15 nicks [1 ops, 0 halfops, 0 voices, 14 normal] 06:11 -!- TobiX [i=tobias@zoidberg.org] has quit [Remote closed the connection] 06:12 -!- TobiX [i=tobias@zoidberg.org] has joined #t2 10:13 -!- hwinkel [n=hwinkel@port-87-193-170-219.static.qsc.de] has joined #t2 10:57 -!- rxr_ [n=rene@port-212-202-210-4.dynamic.qsc.de] has joined #t2 10:57 -!- Topic for #t2: T2 SDE | 7.0-rc released! | trunk heading for 8.0 | The T2 Open System Development Environment (SDE) | http://www.t2-project.org/startpage/ | http://bugs.t2-project.org 10:57 -!- Topic set by H4X [] [Tue Jun 26 17:57:25 2007] 10:57 [Users #t2] 10:57 [@ChanServ] [ CIA-4 ] [ elias` ] [ LMJ ] [ Ragnarin] [ TobiX ] 10:57 [ __new__ ] [ dogmeat] [ Enqlave] [ mqueiros_] [ rxr ] [ |beowulf|] 10:57 [ axionix ] [ dsoul ] [ hwinkel] [ mtr ] [ rxr_ ] 10:57 -!- Irssi: #t2: Total of 17 nicks [1 ops, 0 halfops, 0 voices, 16 normal] 10:57 -!- Channel #t2 created Sun Nov 26 07:44:08 2006 10:57 -!- Irssi: Join to #t2 was synced in 12 secs 11:10 -!- rxr [n=rene@port-212-202-210-4.dynamic.qsc.de] has quit [Read error: 110 (Connection timed out)] 12:03 -!- You're now known as rxr 15:31 -!- Peter_g [n=peter@83.147.130.37] has joined #t2 15:32 < Peter_g> Hi. I'd like to build a custom distribution using t2/stone, but without installing it on the computer that's doing the building. How is this possible? 15:51 < rxr> when you build a whole target (scripts/Build-Target) the build is done in a sandbox seperated form the building system 15:52 < rxr> if you want to install like other os's you can let T2 build an live or install cd 15:52 < rxr> if you want to have it fully automatic, you can use a script to rsync (et al.) the build sandbox result to some HD, Flash, etc. 15:53 < rxr> or if you create an embedded system create a rom image etc. 16:04 < Peter_g> rxr: I see. I've downloaded the live CD. I boot it, and get a minimalist linux distribution. All I see is a bash shell. What steps should I take to build the custom system? 16:14 -!- Peter_g [n=peter@83.147.130.37] has quit [Remote closed the connection] 18:15 -!- hwinkel [n=hwinkel@port-87-193-170-219.static.qsc.de] has left #t2 [] 22:39 -!- tri [n=tri@p57ADA394.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has joined #t2 23:30 -!- tri [n=tri@p57ADA394.dip0.t-ipconnect.de] has quit ["leaving"] --- Log closed Tue Jun 03 00:00:25 2008
