10:20 < dl9pf> moin !
10:21 < dl9pf> generic/minimal/i486 -> perl doesn't compile/install
10:22 < dl9pf> it's t2 v7
10:36 < dl9pf> http://bugs.t2-project.org/ <- wrong url ??
10:37 < dl9pf> No matching server entry!
10:38 < dl9pf> http://rafb.net/p/d1ExJ850.html <-- broken perl
10:56 < mtr> moin dl9pf
10:57 < dl9pf> moin mtr

11:21 < mtr> dl9pf: your build id is default-7.0.0-generic-x86-i486-cross, do you really need to "cross build"?
11:23 < dl9pf> should that really matter ?
11:26 < mtr> it might, cross builds are no that well supported by many packages, a lot of configure scripts die due to the fact that cross build tests cannot be run on the build host
11:29 < mtr> and cross building perl is not straightforward, T2 has a special build method to cross build the perl core, but dynamic modules are not supported
11:30 < dl9pf> ok ... will retry without cross ...
12:49 < dl9pf> http://rafb.net/p/B4mKd910.html <-- now error building bash
12:55 < mtr> I checked on my build host, started a generic/minimal for i486, and perl builds fine here: == 06/06/08 12:36:25 =[1]=> Finished building package perl.
12:55 < mtr> even with cross build enabled ...: genmin486-7.0.0-generic-x86-i486-cross
12:55 < dl9pf> i changed to generic/minimal/i486 and now it fails with bash
12:56 < mtr> what is your host system? not T2 I guess ... ;-)
12:58 < dl9pf> nop ... openSUSE 10.3
13:01 < dl9pf> i need a working build/target for some modification tests (kernel and userspace pkg)
13:17 < mtr> I believe the bash failure is related to your build system as well
13:17 < mtr> shell.h:41:23: error: pathnames.h: No such file or directory
13:17 < dl9pf> i'm now without cross ...
13:17 < dl9pf> now it has gon through until popt ...
13:17 < dl9pf> http://rafb.net/p/Q0nrFS91.html
13:17 < mtr> pathnames.h is generated during bash configure from pathnames.h.in
13:18 < dl9pf> probably make -j bug ?
13:19 < mtr> its in the log: *** GNU gettext is required.
13:19 < dl9pf> gettext is installed ... :/
13:20 < mtr> then check the config.log in the build directory, it has more details
13:21 < dl9pf> hmpf ... gettext-devel ...
13:22 < mtr> :)
13:26 < dl9pf> pebcak
13:26 < mtr> building T2 on a non-T2 system is sometimes a bit delicate
13:26 < mtr> http://www.t2-project.org/handbook/html/t2.build.troubleshooting.html#t2.build.troubleshooting.non-t2
13:27 < mtr> if the build process has passed stage 1 the tolchain is complete, and the further stages do not depend on the build host
13:31 < dl9pf> ok
13:34 < mtr> bash builds now?
13:35 < mtr> oh, popt
13:36 -!- mqueiros_ [n=mqueiros@217.70.71.44] has quit [Client Quit]
13:38 < dl9pf> yes
13:45 < dl9pf> the mirror is not up-to-date ...
13:50 < mtr> which mirror do you use?
13:56 < dl9pf> it autoselects the us mirror ...
13:56 < dl9pf> http://64.251.30.248/mirror_t2/7.0 7.0.0
13:57 < dl9pf> a patch for unisonfs and the xfsprogs were not there (at least the version to be downloaded)
14:06 < mtr> maybe the rsync from the master mirror is off
14:07 < mtr> the mirrors are managed by rxr and LMJ (I hope they will read the backlog...)
14:09 < dl9pf> now it runs ... lets see if it finishes
14:23 < dl9pf> t2 v6.0 bailed out at groff, again
14:23 < dl9pf> t2 v7.0 has finished the toolchain and is now building ...
14:28 < dl9pf> v6.0 groff fails to build: http://rafb.net/p/Mor1i556.html
14:30 < dl9pf> mtr where are you from ? i'm located in hannover ...
14:52 < mtr> rhineland, near bonn
14:52 < dl9pf> palatinate ?
14:52 < mtr> yep
14:55 < dl9pf> i'm from frankweiler near landau
15:08 < mtr> if you like add yourself to the T2 map: http://www.t2-project.org/startpage/
15:32 < dl9pf> mtr: is http://bugs.t2-project.org broken ??
15:55 < mtr> hmm, seems the domain is inactive
15:56 < mtr> I cant help with the bug tracker, we have to wait for rxr
16:16 < rxr> re
16:16 < dl9pf> rxr: hi !
16:16 < rxr> yeah - hi
16:16 < dl9pf> have some issues in the backlog ;)
16:16 < dl9pf> summary:
16:17 < rxr> I'm tapei, 6h ahead od .de ...
16:17 < dl9pf> uh .. ;)
16:17 < rxr> and about to fall in bed for the flight back to .de tomorrow ...
16:17 < dl9pf> then sleep well ;)
16:17 < dl9pf> i'll write to the ML ...
16:18 < rxr> yeah - list is great
16:18 < rxr> btw. I know the bugtracker is offline
16:18 < rxr> we had to relocate a university esrver
16:18 < rxr> and the bugtracker is the last thing to re-launch on some new server ..
16:18 < dl9pf> ok
16:18 < dl9pf> a note would be good somewhere on the hp ...
16:19 < rxr> indeed
16:26 < mtr> hi rxr
16:29 < mtr> dl9pf: btw, my genmin486-7.0.0-generic-x86-i486-cross is ready, successfully cross build
16:30 < dl9pf> harr ... dunnow why it fails here ...
16:30 < dl9pf> shouldn't
16:30 < dl9pf> can you tar your config/default and send it to me for reference ?
16:39 < dl9pf> @gmx

17:22 < mtr> dl9pf: config file: http://rafb.net/p/ynTmHU40.html
17:23 < mtr> dl9pf: my local changes to perl: http://rafb.net/p/oTmj9O26.html
17:24 < dl9pf> mtr: tnx
17:24 < mtr> do you still have build errors for 7.0 no-cross?
17:25 < dl9pf> 7.0 non-cross just finished gcc4 ... still running
17:25 < dl9pf> looks ok atm
17:26 < mtr> the perl changes are unfinished work,
17:27 < mtr> I tried to extend the cross build to have some dynamic modules
17:27 < dl9pf> ok ...
17:27 < mtr> which are required to use a generic cross-build as a build system for T2 itself
17:29 < mtr> but I fear your build error is caused by missing perl modules on the build system
17:30 < dl9pf> could ... but besides gcc, bash and a bit all others should be handled or there needs to be a precheck !
17:33 < mtr> there is already a system check in ./scripts/Check-System
17:35 < mtr> but it clearly does not cover all different eventualities
17:36 < dl9pf> ok ... gotta run ... cya !
