14:39 < freeman2411> Hi Guys
14:39 < freeman2411> Could you help me please
14:45 < freeman2411> with my autoconf compiling problenm
14:45 < freeman2411> problemß
14:45 < freeman2411> ?
14:49 < mpp> go on
14:49 < freeman2411> http://img100.imageshack.us/my.php?image=autoconfmn6.jpg
14:49 < mpp> i'll try
14:49 < freeman2411> ok thank you
14:49 < freeman2411> here is the link in my virtual machine
14:50 < mpp> is this a t2 host
14:50 < mpp> ?
14:50 < freeman2411> yes
14:51 < freeman2411> installed T2 yes
14:51 < mpp> what target do you try to build ?
14:52 < freeman2411> generic system
14:52 < mpp> minimal ...
14:52 < mpp> bootstrap
14:52 < mpp> ?
14:52 < freeman2411> minimal install
14:52 < mpp> i recall some problems with perl
14:53 < freeman2411> ok so what I should do?
14:53 < mpp> is the host 7.0 ?
14:53 < mpp> or trunk
14:53 < freeman2411> 7.0
14:53 < mpp> does the target have to be 7.0 or would trunk be also considered ?
14:54 < freeman2411> I want to try 7.0
14:54 < mpp> it's been some time since i build 7.0
14:55 < mpp> try updating the perl on the host
14:55 < freeman2411> ah ok
14:55 < freeman2411> uh man how I should do that :-(
14:55 < mpp> you know how to do that ?
14:56 < mpp> you could also grab a trunk image for an updated host
14:56 < freeman2411> svn trunk you mean?
14:56 < mpp> yes
14:56 < mpp> http://dl2.t2-project.org/binary/unofficial/mpp_64_cd1.iso
14:56 < freeman2411> ok
14:56 < mpp> that should have a saner perl running
14:56 < freeman2411> i prefer x86 please
14:56 < mpp> i don't !
14:56 < mpp> sorry :-)
14:56 < freeman2411> ok :-)
14:57 < mpp> than you should build a trunk inside your box first
14:57 < mpp> take that image for a fresh host
14:57 < freeman2411> svn trun is not efficient?
14:57 < mpp> i'll build a fresh x86 for you today
14:57 < freeman2411> without new installation
14:57 < freeman2411> really?
14:57 < mpp> thats easy
14:57 < mpp> yes
14:57 < mpp> checkout trunk
14:57 < freeman2411> how long does it take
14:57 < mpp> to build mine ?
14:58 < mpp> or yours to upgrade
14:58 < freeman2411> mine to upgrad
14:58 < freeman2411> e
14:58 < freeman2411> x86
14:58 < freeman2411> build
14:58 < mpp> okay first checkout trunk to a new path
14:58 < mpp> locally
14:58 < freeman2411> ???
14:58 < freeman2411> svn download you mean
14:59 < mpp> svn co
14:59 < mpp> svn co http://svn.exactcode.de/t2/trunk t2-trunk
14:59 < freeman2411> svn co http://svn.exactcode.de/t2/trunk t2-trunk
14:59 < freeman2411> ah ok
14:59 < freeman2411> yes that I mean
14:59 < mpp> then create a minimal config
15:00 < mpp> the emerge with that config like:
15:00 < mpp> scripts/Emerge -cfg my_localhost -system
15:00 < mpp> up ya go !
15:00 < freeman2411> ah ok
15:01 < freeman2411> I will download it now a moment please
15:01 < mpp> you could also emerge only perl but there are many new fixes needed
15:01 < mpp> no prob
15:01 < mpp> ill be around
15:01 < freeman2411> in the press it sounded so easy building your own
15:08 < rxr> it usually should be easy :-)
15:08 < rxr> which press btw ?
15:08 < mpp> moinsen rxr
15:12 < mpp> afk
15:15 < freeman2411> hi rxr

16:40 < mpp> hey rxr
16:41 < mpp> source syncing of dl.exactcode.de in progress
16:41 < mpp> FYI
16:41 < mpp> for now 8.0 trunk only
16:42 < rxr> ok
16:42 < mpp> sorry dl.t2-project.org
16:42 < rxr> sounds great
16:42 < mpp> when finnished ill drop you a note and you can push it as mirror
16:42 < mpp> :-)
16:43 < rxr> ok
16:43 < mpp> so the dl will breathe again
16:43 < mpp> bbl
16:44 < rxr> thanks - cu
16:48 < koan> rxr: have you read about my problems here yesterday?
16:50 < rxr> some package that was not build on Emerge IIRC ?
16:50 < koan> indeed
16:50 < koan> what could cause this?
16:50 < koan> it is really strange
16:50 < rxr> if the package is not selected in the current config - usually
16:50 < rxr> for in-system Emerge it's usually best to select the generic target, so that all packages are selected
16:51 < koan> and I have this with some key packages for Gnome, so I'm kind of stuck
16:51 < rxr> we should make the Emerge printout more verbose, and especially note about unselected packages
16:51 < rxr> oh - one more thing -
16:51 < koan> yes it's a generic target
16:51 < rxr> ah - ok then the one more thing :-)
16:51 < rxr> maybe it is just a aborted-in-the-middle-with-C-c and thus no error log
16:51 < koan> ah that could be
16:51 < rxr> (I should hunt this, happened a few times on my side as well)
16:51 < rxr> just run Emerge with -force
16:52 < koan> ok
16:52 < rxr> Emerge-Pkg -force exact-iamge # or whatever
16:52 < rxr> if Emerge does not schedule a package it's a) either not selected or b) considered built and up-to-date
16:52 < koan> I'll try it this evening (I'm working on Debian by day and playing with T2 by night :-))
16:53 < koan> so how does T2 consider a package built and up-to-date? does it register somewhere what's supposedly built?
16:54 < rxr> t2 only uses the text/plain info it stores in /var/adm
16:54 < rxr> flist,package,...
16:54 < rxr> it gets the version and "t2 package source checksum" form there, as well as if the previous build failed
16:55 < koan> ok so probably it registered that information although I interrupted the build with C-c
