11:53 < CIA-66> rene * r31559 /trunk/package/security/nss/ (nss.conf nss.desc):

11:53 < CIA-66> * simplified "NOPARALLEL" handling my marking it instead of custom removal
12:04 < mpp> hey rxr
12:04 < mpp> did you happen to build gnome or kde succesf on trunk ?
12:41 -!- mpp [n=chatzill@alpha695.server4you.de] has quit [Remote closed the connection]
12:41 < rxr> despite some interim errors of one or the other package, yes
12:42 -!- mpp [n=chatzill@alpha695.server4you.de] has joined #t2
12:42 < rxr> 12:41 < rxr> despite some interim errors of one or the other package, yes
12:42 < mpp> do you have a packagelist for me
12:42 < rxr> I used to build the desktop target
12:43 < mpp> i could need it to build a ui
12:43 < mpp> does the desktop target build on trunk ?
12:44 < rxr> due to the many major version changes not without errors, but I think there where only a few, mostly some minor shared files IIRC
12:44 < mpp> k ill give it a shot
12:44 < rxr> right now I'm quite saturated with finishing stuff at all ends, including evaluating openoffice 3 with t2 for another client ...
12:44 < mpp> k
12:45 < mpp> ill stick with fluxbox for the time beeing
12:45 < mpp> it works falwlesly
12:45 < rxr> (heh, since the KDE4 desaster I indeed switched back to blackbox, likewise)
12:45 < mpp> i managed to have xfce from svn build
12:45 < mpp> i could contribute some packages
12:45 < mpp> but due to gcc4.3 heavy patching is neede
12:45 < mpp> d
12:46 < rxr> when kde4 works to some degree it is dog slow and laggy, not only on my 1.2 GHz Cube at home, but also on modern dual core @ > 2GHz boxes with gigs of RAM ...
12:46 < mpp> yes i know
12:46 < mpp> kde is bloat . period
12:46 < mpp> gnome is better
12:46 < rxr> mpp: hm? they are unable to come up with vanilla C that is valid enough to build witg gcc-4.3 ?
12:46 < rxr> that is not supposed to be rocket science
12:47 < mpp> but after dbus and hal disasater gnome also has several issues
12:47 < mpp> yes xfce needs lots of patching
12:47 < rxr> :-(
12:47 < mpp> gcc issues all over the place
12:47 < rxr> even in trunk?
12:47 < mpp> i bookmarked the
12:47 < rxr> the stable release of xfce we have ß
12:47 < rxr> oh my god
12:47 < mpp> no - but that has other issues
12:47 < mpp> regarding gtk stuff
12:47 < mpp> all in all it's a mess
12:48 < rxr> if they manage to produce that crappy C code thats not accepted by a pretty descent compiler than I really do not wanna see it ... :-(((
12:48 < mpp> thats why i am working days now to set things straight
12:48 < rxr> I mean modern C++, sure that can be "harder" to get right
12:48 < rxr> but C?
12:48 < mpp> no the g++ parts break mostly
12:48 < mpp> on xfce4
12:48 < rxr> oh - xfce has C++ code ?
12:48 < rxr> I thought it was C / Gtk+ only
12:49 < mpp> new libraries came up -
12:49 < mpp> others where dropped
12:49 < mpp> oss mess at its peak
12:49 < rxr> yeah - somehow it feals all OSS fields get messy these days :-(
12:49 < mpp> ill be more than happy to provide the xfce4 when i'm done
12:49 < mpp> lot's of cooks - mess up the spice
12:50 < mpp> ;-(
12:50 < rxr> ::--((
12:50 < mpp> anyways
12:50 < mpp> after xfce4 i'll stick to gnome
12:50 < mpp> it's the one supported by the archivista target i think
12:50 < rxr> ?
12:51 < mpp> isn't gnome the default wm dm on archivista
12:51 < rxr> not really
12:51 < mpp> ah k
12:51 < mpp> must have missed something
12:51 < rxr> only gdm with auto-login and firefox mostly
12:51 < rxr> Xdialog ...
12:51 < rxr> but that's it - the WM is Fluxbox
12:52 < mpp> fluxbox rox
12:52 < mpp> but ides and fbdesk and rox-filer all break on trunk
12:52 < mpp> *** it !
12:52 < rxr> :-(
12:52 < mpp> speaking of gdm
12:52 -!- digitaloktay [n=debian@dslb-088-064-168-087.pools.arcor-ip.net] has joined #t2
12:52 < mpp> it's the first point of gnome / trunk that's out of order
12:53 < mpp> a real pitty
12:53 < mpp> i am somewhat sick & tired of the oss criss cross munching
12:53 < mpp> so in terms of resources - regression errors ill stick with xfce4 first
12:54 < mpp> btw i did some extensive testing on ext4dev
12:54 < mpp> it's pretty cool
12:54 < mpp> esp. fsck performs fast

13:34 < CIA-66> rene * r31560 /trunk/package/develop/xulrunner/xulrunner.conf: * fixed xulrunner to build without java installed
13:45 < rxr> mtr: I now made a symlink from mozilla-nss.pc to libxul-nss.pc openoffice-org building for some hours, now
13:45 * rxr crossing fingers ... and pressing thumbs ...
13:49 < rxr> 32M Dec 18 13:50 build/reference-8.0-trunk-reference-x86-pentiumpro/var/adm/logs/5-openoffice-org.out
14:13 < rxr> hm - the openoffice build is not really saturating a many-core machine :-(
14:14 < rxr> parallel load of just 1.8x processes running ... :-(
16:10 < rxr> hm
16:10 < rxr> Successful packaging process!
16:10 < rxr> ***********************************************************

16:15 < michael-i> I've successfully updated binutils for the blackfin architecture (http://pastebin.ca/1288650) but have run into a problem with uclibc (http://pastebin.ca/1288649). I've found many pastebin entries containing the last few lines of that error message, many of which were from t2. Perhaps this was resolved once before?
16:19 < rxr> I think I got the same error last week with the updated blackfin toolchain
16:20 < rxr> mayber that's a new define provider by newer linux-kernel's header?
16:20 < rxr> maybe check if it's in the linux kernel and thus we have to provide a linux-header overlay for blackfin, for now
16:20 < michael-i> That define is present in ipc.h in the source tree
16:21 < rxr> hm
16:24 < michael-i> in src.blah.localhost/uClibc/libc/misc/sysvipc/ipc.h
16:25 < michael-i> I'm sure you're busy enough with other things...just thought I'd post the latest here
16:25 < rxr> hm - maybe somehow an system header is included insterad of the in-tree one ?
16:28 < rxr> (I'm indeed pretty busy - sorry - hope me random thoughts help ...)
16:30 < michael-i> No problem at all, I'm very appreciative of any help I receive here.
