09:41 < tfl0pz> moin
09:41 < tfl0pz> anyone ever had an issue with xorg-server 1.6 not building kbd_drv?
09:42 < rxr> I'm not yet on 1.6
09:42 < rxr> (and actually I'm thinking about dropping X from our platforms due to excessive and ungoing breakage and slowness)
09:46 < tfl0pz> thanks rxr :) to me this means 'forget about it' ;)
09:46 < tfl0pz> it will save me lots of time actually
09:46 < rxr> (our platform I do not mean t2 :-) just things we base on it ...)
09:47 < rxr> I hope aldas tested it ...
09:47 < rxr> maybe try to use the evdev driver instread of the "obsoleted" kbd and mouse one?
09:49 < tfl0pz> hmm i could give it a try
09:50 < rxr> for me the release quality and development in the open source world in the last 5 years is a big joke
09:50 < rxr> thanks god I spent 50% of my time in OS X these days ...
09:53 < tfl0pz> yep we've spent a tremendous amount of time debugging annoying open source bugs instead of doing actual work
09:53 < rxr> yeah -and just because developer again and again obsolete / delete working code and instead of fixing a one-liner bug rewrite whole modules for the fun of it ..

10:33 < tfl0pz> and btw rxr is everything with the 2.6.28 kernel ok with t2 because i seem to have weird problems with it (just to know if the issues are in my stuff)
10:33 < rxr> 2.6.28 works quite fine here
10:33 < rxr> what problem d you see
10:33 < rxr> (2.6.28 is booth on our servers and my laptop=
10:33 < rxr> )
10:34 < tfl0pz> i've got a problem when mounting live.squash in initrd - it says '/dev/loop0: no such device' although it has managed to do losetup successfully :/

12:25 < rxr> oh my god -- there are already 10 bash-4.0 patches ... !!!
12:25 < rxr> ftp://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/bash/bash-4.0-patches/
12:37 < CIA-41> rene * r32609 /trunk/package/network/asterisk/ (asterisk.desc compile.patch):
12:37 < CIA-41> * updated asterisk (1.4.18 -> 1.4.19), fixes compilation with uclibc
12:37 < rxr> michael-i: as of r32609 asterisk now builds for blackfin, on my side
12:37 < CIA-41> based builds
12:38 < rxr> michael-i: I wasted some hours with the new toolchain -- but at least for my bf533 I'm not getting anywhere, way too broken ...
12:41 < CIA-41> rene * r32610 /trunk/package/network/asterisk/no-mmu.patch.blackfin: * added MMU-less support to asterisk (so far enabled for blackfin, only)
12:41 < rxr> michael-i: ok, forgot a patch :-) r32610 and asterisk should build for blackfin
12:45 < CIA-41> rene * r32611 /trunk/package/network/asterisk/asterisk.desc: * updated asterisk (1.4.19 -> 1.4.20)
12:49 < CIA-41> rene * r32612 /trunk/package/network/asterisk/asterisk.desc: * updated asterisk (1.4.20 -> 1.4.21)
12:53 < CIA-41> rene * r32613 /trunk/package/network/asterisk/asterisk.desc: * updated asterisk (1.4.21 -> 1.4.22)
13:25 < michael-i> rxr: saw the mails...nice work. The toolchain is a pain to update from their SVN because it is so slow. Many problems in updating it though, right?
13:27 < rxr> yes, at least for my BF533 i was not able to get even the basic toolchain completely built without errors
13:27 < rxr> I hope your newer CPU is fully covered by the current toolchain
13:28 < rxr> what CPU do you exactly have ?
13:29 < rxr> if one would not need C++ some newer toolchain would work for my BF533, but I did not found a combination while spending some hours that would survice a bootstrap with C++ required
13:30 < rxr> (and AFAIHS asterisk has partially C++ in the sources, anyway9
13:30 < CIA-41> rene * r32614 /trunk/package/network/asterisk-addons/asterisk-addons.desc: * updated asterisk-addons (1.4.5 -> 1.4.6)
13:30 < rxr> ) even
13:31 < michael-i> 527
13:31 < michael-i> in my target, I have a patch which disables the usage of the c++ linker in Asterisk since we're not using any of the module which require it
13:32 < rxr> oh
13:33 < rxr> but still it would be counter productive for others if we update to a halfly working toolchain :-) without C++ support :-)
13:33 < michael-i> that's the crappy part...
13:41 < rxr> ok - and for the fun of it I also fixed the asterisk-addons to cross build
13:41 < CIA-41> rene * r32615 /trunk/package/network/asterisk-addons/ (asterisk-addons.conf asterisk-addons.desc): * fixed asterisk-addons to cross build
13:50 < CIA-41> rene * r32616 /trunk/package/network/ (asterisk/asterisk.conf asterisk-addons/asterisk-addons.conf):
13:50 < CIA-41> * added a "code shared" not to asterisk.conf and fixed
13:50 < CIA-41> a line's whitespacing in asterisk-addons.conf

14:09 < michael-i> rxr, where can I look to begin modifying the "intelligent initrd" in t2? I'm not finding where that is all put together
14:09 < rxr> just do not include the initrd package if you do not want to ouse it
14:09 < rxr> then no initrd should be attempted to be bulid (IIRC)
14:10 < michael-i> ok, i'll take a look. thanks!
14:10 < rxr> as you want to run anything from your own initrd you will not need it anyway
14:10 < rxr> I think (but I can check) the t2 initrd output (if you want to use it at all) should still work without the "standard" initrd being build
14:10 < rxr> that it is it packs the resulting build sandbox together as initrd (IIRC)
14:11 < rxr> so - I gotta go lunch
14:11 < michael-i> enjoy
15:44 < rxr> michael-i: can you reproduce the asterisk on blackfin on your side?
15:45 < michael-i> rxr: I haven't tried it yet...still working on getting linux26 and some 3rd party modules building
16:52 < michael-i> bus time...i might have some postlinux.conf questions for tomorrow :)

23:07 < delirus42> This is probably a silly question... but can the x86 arch of T2 be built from within an x86_64 environment?
