09:54 < csiadmin> morning everyone
10:23 < rxr> moin
10:51 < csiadmin> hi rxr: you ever used bonnie++?
11:01 < rxr> I guess
11:08 < CIA-69> rene * r34075 /trunk/package/network/zabbix/zabbix.desc: * updated zabbix (1.6.5 -> 1.6.6)
11:08 < CIA-69> rene * r34074 /trunk/package/xorg/libpciaccess/libpciaccess.desc: * updated libpciaccess (0.10.6 -> 0.10.7)
11:10 < koan> rxr: any idea about the bzip2 build error? http://pastebin.com/m7e749e2
11:10 < rxr> !> cp: preserving times for `/usr/lib64/libbz2.so.1.0': Function not implemented
11:10 < rxr> ?
11:11 < koan> yup
11:11 < koan> never seen this kind of error
11:11 < rxr> me neither
11:18 < csiadmin> koan: I get the same bzip2 error but it's in the final build anyway
11:18 < koan> oh so the resultant bzip2 binary works fine?
11:19 < rxr> probably
11:19 < rxr> I guess it's just some coreutils cp regression
11:19 < CIA-69> rene * r34076 /trunk/package/filesystem/libburn/libburn.desc: * updated libburn (0.6.8.pl00 -> 0.7.0.pl00)
11:19 < rxr> using too new kernel APIs yet again or so
11:19 < koan> ok, I'll ignore it for now
11:19 < CIA-69> rene * r34077 /trunk/package/gnome2/libcanberra/libcanberra.desc: * updated libcanberra (0.15 -> 0.16)
11:20 < CIA-69> rene * r34078 /trunk/package/graphic/libraw/libraw.desc: * updated libraw (0.6.15 -> 0.8.0)
11:28 < koan> hm and now I have suddenly a lot of File not found errors: "Did you run ./scripts/Download for this package?"
11:37 < csiadmin> guys I've a problem booting my installcd - it's not loading second stage and menu hangs. any ideas?
11:37 < csiadmin> I've previously tested this installcd on a vm
11:58 < csiadmin> redoing build with grub instead of isolinux to see if that helps...
12:11 < csiadmin> exactly the same in grub - looks like /dev/cdrom won't mount in stage 2...
12:19 < koan> hm weird, I had to do Download -required to get those files
12:19 < koan> csiadmin: I'm not there yet :)
12:33 < csiadmin> just tried it successfully on a sun server - it's just not working on our ibms... pants

13:35 < rxr> guess time to install the final build of Snow Leopard ...
13:40 < koan> all in all, it seems trunk is in much better shape than last time I tried to build it, half a year ago
13:42 < rxr> nice :-)
13:43 < koan> I remember last time that a lot of critical packages failed
13:44 < koan> until now, it's just bzip2 and cvs
14:10 < csiadmin> hmm still working on this boot issue. I've successfully booted a t2 v7 image on the ibms. looking at grub on each the only difference is the kernels.
15:29 < csiadmin> got my image installed - I booted using the t2 v7 build, then switch cd's before starting and installation using stone
15:34 < koan> :)
15:52 < csiadmin> hmm thought I was doing ok, installed server won't boot and message is too quick to see what it's failing on :(
15:57 < csiadmin> problem with mounting /proc /sys /dev/shm /dev/pts...any ideas?
17:20 < koan> some xf86-input drivers are failing, I suppose that's known?
17:22 < csiadmin> koan: don't know, I'm not building them - my build is failing on cvs and bzip2 only
17:23 < csiadmin> anyone know how to put a previous kernel in a build - instead of the current 2.6.30-5?
17:52 < rxr> just exchange the linux26 package and the third party packages (unionfs etc.) that you might use
17:52 < rxr> you can even put that in the package overrides in your target/.../package... dirs for real professional use
18:16 < csiadmin> rxr: thx will look into this - still learning ;)

19:09 < rxr> this was a security update
19:09 < rxr> if you find some service not to work let me know
19:31 < koan> rxr: it seems some of these xf86 input and video drivers are abandoned upstream, so maybe t2 should abandon them too, e.g. xf86-video-vga
19:31 < koan> see also this Debian bugreport: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=523687
19:37 < koan> the most recent release of this driver is from 2006, and it's deprecated by the vesa driver
