11:54 < rxr> hi michael-i
11:55 < michael-i> hi rxr
11:55 < michael-i> a lovely day of failure here :) nothing's working...you'd think it was monday!
11:56 < rxr> autsch :-(
12:45 -!- dpc [n=dpc@chello089075192131.chello.pl] has joined #t2
12:45 < dpc> Hi there.
12:46 < dpc> I'm trying to build t2-trunk and I always fail.
12:46 < dpc> Now I can't compile gcc due to sharede files with glibc
12:54 < dpc> And t2-7.0 is not working due to ./scripts/Build-Target: line 320: get_expanded: command not found
12:54 < dpc> Any help will be appreciated. :)
12:58 < rxr> guess you build 7.0 on a system new enough to ship with bash-4.x ?
13:03 < CIA-38> rene * r34431 /branches/7.0/scripts/ (Check-System functions.in):
13:03 < CIA-38> * merged r33416 and r33417 from trunk:
13:03 < CIA-38> * define get_expanded for bash 4.*
13:03 < CIA-38> * bash 4.* is ok to build T2, added it to Check-System
13:06 < rxr> if it's so, this should be fixed, now :-)
13:06 < CIA-38> rene * r34432 /trunk/package/mail/getmail/getmail.desc: * updated getmail (4.11.0 -> 4.12.0)
13:07 < CIA-38> rene * r34433 /trunk/package/kde/smb4k/smb4k.desc: * updated smb4k (0.10.3 -> 0.10.4)
13:07 < CIA-38> rene * r34434 /trunk/package/perl/event-perl/event-perl.desc: * updated event-perl (1.12 -> 1.13)
13:31 < dpc> rxr: Yes
13:31 < dpc> Will try.
13:41 < dpc> http://www.nopaste.pl/fv5
13:42 < dpc> generic, minimal, x64; ubuntu 9.10 beta
13:42 < dpc> T2 is damn good concept, but I just can't get it work :)
13:43 < koan> from my experience, building T2 on Ubuntu is not so straightforward, I always fire up a T2 virtual machine as a build machine
13:44 < koan> on Ubuntu I always had to install a slew of -dev packages and I only could figure it out by trial and error
14:05 < dpc> Yes. Ubuntu is better for user than for developer. However nowadays I consider myself to be user most of the time and developer in free time only. :)
14:06 < dpc> However after initial -dev pain it's not a big issue anymore.
14:14 < Baldzius> http://www.cracked.com/blog/using-windows-7-may-lead-to-murder
14:39 < rxr> yay
14:43 < Baldzius> good old days, installing Win95 with 28 floppy disks
14:50 < CIA-38> aldas * r34435 /trunk/package/x11/freetype/freetype.desc: * updated freetype (2.3.9 -> 2.3.10)
15:15 < mqueiros_> Baldzius: He should consider him self lucky. He could have got 40 disks of slackware... those where the good old days... ;)
15:16 < rxr> good days? that was plain insane :-)
15:16 < rxr> my relation with floppies was mixed at best, more often defect due degrading magnetic charges then not ...
15:16 < Baldzius> or 33 cds of Debian
15:17 < rxr> 33 cds ?
15:17 < Baldzius> yep, with all packages included
15:17 < mqueiros_> rxr: ok, ok... I'm feeling nostalgic.
15:18 < rxr> that is I should unpack and power-up my Zip drive :-)
15:18 < mqueiros_> 32... :) Ok... but 4 CDs on Mandrake was usual
15:18 < michael-i> i remember downloading the new internet explorer at a friends house for an entire night, putting it on floppies, bringing it home and having the second to last floppy be unreadable...
15:18 < rxr> in the days of analog modems I brought the SuSE pressed CDs with FTP mirror, I thinkg that where 6-7 ... :-)
15:18 < rxr> pretty damn high bandwidth that was
15:19 < rxr> and a great help keeping up-to-date at ROCK Linux times ...
15:20 < rxr> mqueiros_: yeah - once some of our Framework II, III or IV (or so) 5 1/4" floopies lost too much magnetic bits ... that runied the day ...
15:22 < rxr> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Framework_(office_suite)
15:26 < rxr> I think in my parents house we still have that 24 dot matrix printer of that times
15:27 < rxr> where at some point one neddle got stuck, essentially making it a 23 dot matrix printer, with one line of dots missing :-(
15:27 < michael-i> 140db+ color banner printing....had to leave the room it was so loud
15:28 < rxr> that stuck dot phenomen can of couse still happen with dried out ink jet heads, though ...
15:32 < rxr> mqueiros_: :-(
15:32 < rxr> mqueiros_: have some "hot wax" Xerox printer near me, it's not loud but the meltig wax does not smell good either ...
15:32 * rxr wonders how a US company can produce such smelling devices, smells like a class action suite or what they're name ...
15:34 < rxr> good that we only print PR material with it, not daily office letters, ...
16:05 < dpc> How do I move on with this shared files?
16:05 < dpc> Can I just rename err to out and continue?

16:07 < Baldzius> dpc: which packages involved?
16:07 < dpc> !> usr/include/asm/errno.h: linux-header m4
16:07 < dpc> !> usr/include/bits/errno.h: glibc m4
16:07 < Baldzius> hm
16:08 < Baldzius> you can unset "Run paranoia checks" with config
16:08 < Baldzius> almost at the bottom
16:08 < Baldzius> and you can rename files from .err to .log
16:10 < dpc> OK
16:10 < dpc> But how to really fix the problem? :D
16:10 < dpc> And I can't see run paranoia checks in config ...
16:12 < dpc> OK. I've found manaully.
16:14 < Baldzius> it's version 7.0? or trunk?
16:22 < dpc> trunk
16:22 < dpc> 7.0 fails on something completely different now. :)
16:24 < Baldzius> we will fix those issues before taging trunk as 8.0
16:24 < Baldzius> might be this or next month
16:24 < dpc> I guess. :)
16:24 < dpc> Oh. OK.
16:24 < dpc> I must go now. CU!
16:24 < Baldzius> cya
