07:58 < jkoerner> Hi there. Just tried to create my own installCD and got stuck with building bin86. I already tried to solve the problem by following the hints in the book, even tried to build it manually in a different dir. There are lots of error lines with "comma expected" and "illegal indirect to indirect". Any suggestions how to solve it? Package name is dev86-0.16.17
08:00 < jkoerner> build OS is Debian amd_64 testing, target of the CD is x86_64
08:07 < jkoerner> and btw I'm doing that because the t2 install CD doesn't work for me. It stopped at the selection of SCSI or ATAPI CD-ROM and all options get me back to the start.
08:11 < jkoerner> Maybe it's because the CDRom is external via usb. lsusb shows it as Bus 001 Device 006: ID 04b4:6830

17:36 < rogermason> Hello all. I managed to boot the t2-8.0-minimal-i486.iso from a usb stick and use it to install a machine. If anyone is interested I can give the details.
17:36 < rxr> sur
17:36 < rxr> sure
17:36 < rxr> e.g. you could send the notes to the t2 mailing list
17:36 < rogermason> Will do.
17:50 < rxr> koan: 8.0 with Emerge X stuff yields usable X on the G5, ... puh!

17:58 < koan> :-)
17:59 < koan> I haven't gone further today, but the only problem yesterday was that the keyboard didn't work in X
17:59 < koan> I had installed xkeyboard-config and the X keyboard driver
18:00 < rxr> btw. I still use the old xf86-input-{keyboard,mouse} drivers
18:00 < rxr> although the x folks promote the evdev driver
18:00 < koan> yes I also used that one
18:00 < rxr> the evdev driver always has very strange issues for me, ...
18:00 < rxr> xcfgt2 should write out a config that should be a good base
