rogermas`> its very funny. 18:53 < rogermas`> i'm close to the point of putting my trunk T2 build on anumber of machines. Some (most) can't boot from usb, many don't have cdroms. I can put the T2 kernel & initrd on the hard disk of these machines and boot into it. I'm wondering if the option to get the second stage stuff over the internet is working. If so I'll put the required files on a web-server somewhere. 19:11 < rxr> the classic net install is a little rudimentary, not not well tested 19:12 < rxr> I always only worked on it when I had to get some historic Un*x machine to boot, like the Sgi Octane, or a Sun T1000, ... 19:12 < rxr> how do you normally boot those other machines ? 19:13 < rxr> puh, got my Windows 7 on my "Netbook" repaired 19:13 < rxr> damn thing, every time I want to check something once in a while (months, etc.) 19:13 < rxr> this damn thing won't boot anymore, ... 19:14 < rxr> this time some other os (Linux, Mac?) apparently rewrote the MBR, and thus wiped the disk identifier once again 19:14 < rxr> how can a this millenium OS use something as unrelibale as a 4 byte mark in the 0 sector of an HD to boot, my oh my 19:15 < rxr> http://rene.rebe.de/2010-04-16/chameleon-booter-windows-7-vista/ 19:16 < rxr> heh, chrome (for windows) is funny, blends in "There is a new verison of Google Chrome availble." (what wonder, I booted into windows some half a year ago, ... options: "Try it out (already installed)" .. heck what? you update and then ask???? .. "or uninstall Google Chrome", aha, nice choices, .... 19:27 < rxr> interesting, the GMA500 (PowerVR) in the Nokia Booklet can drive my (not so new anymore) 1920x1200 display 19:27 < rxr> cool thing, feared it would not 19:30 < rxr> ah, my Intel has still not fixed graphic artefacts and flickering in their doom'ed GMA500 aka Poulsbo driver :-( 19:39 < rogermas`> rxr: I boot from a hd. 19:40 < rogermas`> Windows 7 eh. last I used was win 95. 20:37 -!- mqueiros_ [~mqueiros@a83-132-150-220.cpe.netcabo.pt] has joined #t2 --- Log closed Sat Oct 09 00:00:58 2010
