12:07 < rogermas`> hello.
12:12 < rogermas`> I have a question about dependencies. I added gimp to my config and ran Build-target. Some dependencies were pulled in and built but gimp failed for lack of babl, then gegl then pygtk. However, all 3 are already in gimp.cache. I have added them to the config, but should they not have been built automatically as dependencies of gimp? (This is on trunk, by the way.)
12:25 < gw> Hi, It's been a while that I used the build system, but I'll try to help...
12:26 < gw> AFAIK all packages to be built must be marked as active
12:26 < gw> and it may be that you have to rerun the config script (but not sure about that)
12:27 < gw> And I don't think Build-target checks for dependencies...
12:28 < gw> Because T2 does not distinguish between optional and required dependencies.
12:29 < gw> I remember that it is a long outstanding thing (back from Rock) to implement a proper dependency handling, but no one ever made a good proposal how to best do it.
12:31 < gw> (On the other hand I never had the need for a dependency handling mechanism)
13:16 < rogermas`> gw: thank-you. But I'm left wondering what purpose is served by having a cache for each package.
