Running Emerge-Pkg for sun-jre-160 tells me to download the package manually, which I did, putting it in /root. But what do I do next? 14:44 < rxr> hi 15:27 < rxr> run Emerge- or Build-Pkg just normally, again 15:27 < rxr> it should pick up the file 15:35 < rogermas`> no. it just repeats the message to download the file. I did the whole install manually. 15:36 < rogermas`> Anyway the application for which I wanted java does not work very well, so it is not important. 15:38 < rxr> ouhm 15:38 < rxr> well, normally the download script picks up the file IIRC form /root/... 15:38 < rxr> maybe you put it elsewhere? 15:39 < rogermas`> more importantly, I need to get xulrunner built so I can install OpenOffice (need it for teaching). I just tried building with distcc turned off but I get the same error as before. Any thoughts? 15:40 < rogermas`> root@jade:~# ls -l /root 15:40 < CIA-36> rene * r38038 /trunk/package/xorg/inputproto/inputproto.desc: * updated inputproto (2.0 -> 2.0.1) 15:40 < CIA-36> rene * r38039 /trunk/package/network/bluez/bluez.desc: * updated bluez (4.78 -> 4.79) 15:40 < rogermas`> -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 21235371 Nov 15 10:08 jre-6u21-linux-i586.bin 15:41 < CIA-36> rene * r38040 /trunk/package/xorg/xf86-video-geode/xf86-video-geode.desc: * updated xf86-video-geode (2.11.9 -> 2.11.10) 16:16 < rogermas`> is there some way of finding out which package provides a given application? I need to use 'info' but the info directory seems to be screwed up (no dir file). I assume rebuilding 'info' will fix it, but which package provides it? 16:42 -!- mqueiros [~mqueiros@a213-22-83-247.cpe.netcabo.pt] has joined #t2 16:43 < rxr> you can probably use the t2 web site search and package matrix to look that up 16:55 < rogermas`> I tried that but could not find it. Looking up info produces loads of hits because almost every package installs an info file. Anyway, I'll have another go later. 17:00 -!- mqueiros [~mqueiros@a213-22-83-247.cpe.netcabo.pt] has quit [Quit: Ex-Chat] 17:37 < rogermas`> quit 17:38 -!- rogermas` [~user@gem.esd.mun.ca] has left #t2 ["ERC Version 5.3 (IRC client for Emacs)"] 17:45 -!- rogermason [~user@gem.esd.mun.ca] has joined #t2 23:38 -!- mqueiros [~mqueiros@a213-22-83-247.cpe.netcabo.pt] has joined #t2 23:50 -!- orici [~quassel@2001:470:9a41:107:20c:29ff:fea4:8189] has quit [Read error: Operation timed out] --- Log closed Tue Nov 16 00:00:41 2010
